A Chiral Saddle‐Shaped Nanographene With Two Heptagon‐Embedded [4]Helicenes
We present a novel synthetic strategy toward a chiral saddle‐shaped nanographene (cSNG) via a two‐step oxidation of a prochiral anthracene precursor. The Scholl‐type oxidation first yields a key intermediate with sp3‐defect heptagons, and subsequent oxidative dehydrogenation affords fully conjugated cSNG.

Two new 9,9’-spirobifluorene-based bis(4-pyridines) were synthesised in enantiopure and one also in racemic form. These ligands act as concave templates and form metallosupramolecular [(dppp)2M2L2] rhombi with cis-protected [(dppp)Pd]2+ and [(dppp)Pt]2 ...

Background and aim: Intranasal racemic ketamine is an off-label alternative for treatment-resistant depression (TRD), offering a non-invasive and compared to esketamine less expensive option. However, its efficacy and safety in outpatient settings remain

Enantiomeric Separation of Racemic Drugs Using Chiral Self-Assembled Monolayers [PDF]
Enantiomeric separation of racemic drugs is a never ending battle for pharmaceutical chemists. Conventional approaches to separating enantiomers (mirror-image stereoisomers) typically rely on chromatography utilizing chiral stationary phases or reactions

An anomeric amide‐enabled divergent aldehyde functionalization sequence provides one‐pot access to unsymmetrical ureas, carbamates, thiocarbamates, thioesters, and amides. Key to this transformation is the formation of N‐Boc‐hydroxamate intermediates, which serve as platforms for orthogonal activation via Lossen‐type rearrangements, single‐electron ...

ABSTRACT Saturated fatty acids (SFAs) are generally regarded simply as being resistant to oxidation compared with unsaturated fatty acids. However, it has long been reported that SFAs can undergo oxidation when heated at high temperatures, leading to the formation of unique degradation products such as 2‐alkanones and lactones.

A physics‐grounded framework based on decoherence timescales (τ_dec vs τ_func), Markovian validity, and falsifiability criteria is applied across molecular systems to distinguish where quantum effects are necessary, marginal, or irrelevant. The analysis integrates quantum chemistry, biological quantum mechanisms, and quantum computing under a unified ...
