Performance of an FMCW radar sensor
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1992An FMCW (frequency modulated continuous wave) sensor that uses triangular modulation is considered. The sampled output from two range gates are processed so that the device will initiate some function when it passes through a desired range. An expression is obtained for the detection probability from which the expected value and standard deviation of ...

Code selection for radar performance optimization
2007 International Waveform Diversity and Design Conference, 2007In this paper we consider the synthesis of radar waveforms in the presence of colored disturbance. We focus on the class of coded pulse trains and determine the best radar codes according to some established optimality criteria. We propose three coding methods.

The Radar Support System (RSS): a tool for siting radars and predicting their performance
IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Magazine, 1997The Radar Support System (RSS) is a software tool for assisting the radar siting engineer in determining the best location for a sensor, evaluating performance in a site-specific environment and analyzing operational problems. The RSS uses detailed sensor models, along with digital topographic, land cover and cultural databases, to provide accurate ...

Performance of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission, X-band radar system
IGARSS 2000. IEEE 2000 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Taking the Pulse of the Planet: The Role of Remote Sensing in Managing the Environment. Proceedings (Cat. No.00CH37120), 2002The German contribution to the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) is an X-band SAR Interferometer. In 1994 successfully flown flight hardware from the Shuttle radar lab is reused and modified to form a single pass interferometer. The original system is used as the prime channel with the radar transmitter and the channel one receiver. The secondary

Performance of a hologram matrix radar
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1974The concept of "hologram matrix" was introduced earlier [1], [2]. A novel radar based upon this new principle of operation has been developed and successfully tested. A brief description of the radar system and the results obtained from the field operation are reported.

Radar Beacon System Performance
IRE Transactions on Aeronautical and Navigational Electronics, 1957Conservatively sufficient conditions are found for satisfactory operation of many ground and airborne beacon sets in a relatively small area. Necessary conditions must be found in some more tedious manner, since several simplifying assumptions are made in the method described here.
