Beaming of particles and synchrotron radiation in relativistic magnetic reconnection

open access: yes, 2016
Relativistic reconnection has been invoked as a mechanism for particle acceleration in numerous astrophysical systems. According to idealised analytical models reconnection produces a bulk relativistic outflow emerging from the reconnection sites (X ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Algorithm for Assessing the Characteristics of a Waveguide Slot Antenna Array when Changing Antenna Element Phasing

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника
Introduction. When operating antennas in various radio-electronic systems, the influence of phase shifter (PS) failures on the characteristics of phased array antennas, waveguide-slot phased array antennas (WSPAA) in particular, should be taken into ...

Quantized form factor shift in the presence of free electron laser radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In electron scattering, the target form factors contribute significantly to the diffraction pattern and carry information on the target electromagnetic charge distribution.

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Experimental Study of Coherent Collaborative Processing Method in Distributed Automotive Radar

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений России: Радиоэлектроника
Introduction. Intelligent driver assistance systems are increasingly employing radar systems to detect, resolve, and track various classes of targets. The use of MIMO-based distributed systems allow the characteristics of object resolution by angle to be

The radiation pattern of a QCD antenna in a dense medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We calculate the radiation spectrum off a qq-bar pair of a fixed opening angle theta_qq-bar traversing a medium of length L. Multiple interactions with the medium are handled in the harmonic oscillator approximation, valid for soft gluon emissions.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.

Calculation of radiation patterns

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1969
The letter proves that two distinct methods of calculating the radiation pattern of a spherical-aperture distribution are mathematically equivalent, i.e. by a spherical-harmonic expansion or by Silver's far-field formula. The merits of each method and their extension to arbitrary-shaped apertures are briefly discussed.
