Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Design of Microstrip Tchebyscheff Phased Array Antennas for Inter-Vehicular Communication

open access: yesAdvanced Electromagnetics, 2022
To enhance the safety and comfort of a driver, the wireless technology is used for inter-vehicular communication (IVC). During the lane change in highways, the driver of a high speed vehicle can exploit the antenna technology using a microcontroller ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Taguchi Method-Based Synthesis of a Circular Antenna Array for Enhanced IoT Applications

open access: yesTelecom
Linear antenna arrays exhibit radiation patterns that are restricted to a half-space and feature axial radiation, which can be a significant drawback for applications that require omnidirectional coverage. To address this limitation, the synthesis method

Beaming of particles and synchrotron radiation in relativistic magnetic reconnection

open access: yes, 2016
Relativistic reconnection has been invoked as a mechanism for particle acceleration in numerous astrophysical systems. According to idealised analytical models reconnection produces a bulk relativistic outflow emerging from the reconnection sites (X ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Substrate size impact on the radiation pattern of a sub-THz printed antenna [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications
In this paper, we study the effect of the transverse dimensions of a "thick" substrate on the printed antenna radiation properties in the sub-THz range. A four-element seriesfed dipole array operating at 100-116 GHz is chosen as a test antenna.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
