DNA methylation changes following DNA damage in prostate cancer cells
Many cancer therapies operate by inducing double-strand breaks (DSBs) in cancer cells, however treatment-resistant cells rapidly initiate mechanisms to repair damage enabling survival.

Epoxy resin with glycidyl-methacrylate-modified boron nitride nanosheets for radiation resistance
Epoxy resin (EP) has good mechanical and insulating properties and is widely used in the aerospace and nuclear industry. However, it can become degraded and failure-prone in high-energy radiation environments.

The effect of added O_2 on the transmittance and radiation resistance of radiation resistant glasses
One method of hardening optical glasses against radiation-induced darkening has been to add CeO(2) to the batch composition. In the present investigation we prepared a series of lanthanum crown glasses with varying degrees of CeO(2) additions and melted them at 1,400 °C with and without bubbling oxygen gas.

Effect of physiological age on radiation resistance of some bacteria that are highly radiation resistant [PDF]
Physiological age-dependent variation in radiation resistance was studied for three bacteria that are highly radiation resistant: Micrococcus radiodurans, Micrococcus sp. isolate C-3, and Moraxella sp. isolate 4. Stationary-phase cultures of M. radiodurans and isolate C-3 were much more resistant to gamma radiation than were log-phase cultures.

DIPOLE ANTENNAS WITH A SECTOR-SHAPED RADIATION PATTERN [PDF]
Subject and Purpose. The directivity characteristics of a dipole antenna when it is placed above and parallel to a perfectly conducting screen of rectangular shape are considered, aiming to theoretically study dipole antennas with sector-shaped radiation

Radiation Resistance: Resurrection by Recombination [PDF]
Adaptation to extreme desiccation has conferred extraordinary radiation resistance on the bacterium Deinococcus radiodurans. How this organism is able to reconstruct a genome shattered by gamma rays has now been revealed.
