A Dual-Polarized Multi-Sector Antenna Using Dielectric Image Lines for Millimeter-Wave Indoor Base Stations

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
A new dual-polarized multi-sector antenna for a millimeter-wave indoor base station (27.4-27.8 GHz) is presented. The proposed antenna consists of six horizontally polarized (H-pol.) and vertically polarized (V-pol.) end-fire antennas on a ground plane ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE METHOD OF INDIRECT STEGANOGRAPHIC DATA HIDING IN THE CONTAINER IMAGE CONTOUR

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska, 2018
The article discusses issues related to the use of methods of digital steganography for information security in systems of critical appointment. The advantages of using data embedding in an image container are shown.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Multiple Lens Gait Recognition Algorithm Based on Category Haar Feature Template Matching [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2017
Aiming at the problem of low accuracy for the gait recognition in video surveillance, the bilateral Fourier calibration point estimation category Haar feature template matching based multiple lens gait recognition algorithm is proposed.According to the ...

Broadcasting in Noisy Radio Networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing, 2017
The widely-studied radio network model [Chlamtac and Kutten, 1985] is a graph-based description that captures the inherent impact of collisions in wireless communication. In this model, the strong assumption is made that node $v$ receives a message from a neighbor if and only if exactly one of its neighbors broadcasts.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

A Reflected-Light-Mode Multiwavelength Interferometer for Measurement of Step Height Standards

open access: yesSensors
The article is dedicated to measuring the thickness of step height standards using the author’s version of the variable wavelength interferometer (VAWI) in the reflected-light mode, where the interference pattern is created by the combination of two ...
