Rapid radiochemical purity testing for [131I]m-iodobenzylguanidine

Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 1995
The standard high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for determining radiochemical purity (RCP) of [131I]m-iodobenzylguanidine ([131I]mIBG) is cumbersome and time-consuming. A simplified and rapid separation method with the use of a reverse-phase extraction chromatography technique (i.e. Sep-Pak C18 [SPC] cartridge) is described.

Routine determination of radiochemical purity of 99mTc-MIBI

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part A. Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1989
The manufacturer recommends that the radiochemical purity of 99mTc-MIBI be determined with alumina TLC plates developed in ethanol, but for routine use this is slow and requires care. After comparing a variety of systems, we obtained equivalent results using ITLC-SG strips developed with saline to determine [99mTc]pertechnetate and with acetone to ...

Production of 237Pu with high radiochemical purity

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1993
Abstract 237 Pu (half-life 45.3 d) is a valid metabolic tracer for the long-lived isotopes of plutonium, but its use in human subjects has previously been restricted by difficulties in producing it with acceptable isotopic purity. These difficulties have been overcome by applying mass-separation techniques to the impure product of irradiating 235 U

Purity and stability of radiochemical tracers in autoradiography

Journal of Microscopy, 1972
SUMMARYAutoradiography is used as a means of ‘visualizing’ the results of tracer investigations; it gives a measure of ‘events’ which have already occurred. This paper discusses some of the problems peculiar to radiochemicals which should be clearly recognized prior to the application of autoradiographic techniques and the interpretation of the data ...

Evaluation of C18 monolithic columns for radiochemical purity measurement

Journal of Labelled Compounds and Radiopharmaceuticals, 2016
Speeding the analysis of reaction aliquots, high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fractions and final products continue to be an area of great interest in the study of radiopharmaceuticals. Translating recently developed rapid HPLC and ultra high‐performance liquid chromatography analysis approaches to radio‐HPLC can sometimes be fraught with ...

Faster and easier radiochemical purity testing for [125I]sodium iothalamate

Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 1997
A previous method for determination of the radiochemical purity (RCP) value of [125I]sodium iothalamate uses two paper strips and solvents (total developing time is approximately 2.5 h). To simplify and shorten the RCP testing procedure, our laboratory has developed a single-strip chromatography method that not only distributes free 125I and [125I ...

Radiochemical purity testing for 99Tcm-exametazime

Nuclear Medicine Communications, 1994
The standard radiochemical purity (RCP) determination uses a three-paper chromatography strip and solvent system (TP). The involvement of multiple strips for calculation of percentage primary, lipophilic 99Tcm-exametazime complex is tedious and time-consuming.

[Radiochemical purity studies on 10 radiopharmaceuticals].

Nuklearmedizin. Nuclear medicine, 1985
Ten radiopharmaceuticals in frequent clinical use were examined for their radiochemical purity. Thin-layer chromatography, paper chromatography and electrophoresis were used. The activity of the separated components was measured in a gamma sample changer.

Visualization and Quantification of Radiochemical Purity by Cerenkov Luminescence Imaging

Analytical Chemistry, 2018
Determination of radiochemical purity is essential for characterization of all radioactive compounds, including clinical radiopharmaceuticals. Radio-thin layer chromatography (radio-TLC) has been used as the gold standard for measurement of radiochemical purity; however, this method has several limitations in terms of sensitivity, spatial resolution ...
