99Tcm-MAG3: Problems with radiochemical purity testing

Nuclear Medicine Communications, 2000
The radiochemical purity (RCP) of 99Tcm-MAG3 was determined using solid-phase extraction (SPE), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and thin-layer chromatography (TLC). The difference between the HPLC and SPE methods was highly significant (P < 0.001), yielding values for RCP of 94.4 +/- 1.4% and 86.0 +/- 5.1% [corrected] respectively (mean +/

Radiochemical purity of99mTc radiopharmaceuticals

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Letters, 1995
Some factors which could adversely affect the integrity of eight routine99mTc radiopharmaceuticals have been investigated. The radiochemical purity of the preparations was determined both under “standard” (reconstitution according to the manufacturer's instructions) and under “experimental” conditions (higher contents of longlived99Tc and copper).

Effect of 99Tc on the radiochemical purity of 99mTc radiopharmaceuticals

Nuclear Medicine Communications, 2011
The longer the time between elutions of a technetium-99m (Tc) generator, the greater the Tc : Tc ratio in the eluate. Information is limited on how this affects the radiochemical purity (RCP) of Tc radiopharmaceuticals. The aim was to determine whether the RCPs of Tc radiopharmaceuticals are affected when prepared using Tc-pertechnetate from a ...

Radiochemical Purity of Tritium Exchange Labeled Barbital

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1962
Barbital (diethylmalonylurea) was isotopically labeled with tritium by the Wilzbach gas exposure procedure. The specific activity of the tritiated barbital was 266 mc./Gm. after removal of labile tritium. The following criteria of homogeneity were employed: recrystallization to constant specific activity using 2 solvent systems; column liquid-liquid ...

Routine determination of radiochemical purity of 99mTc-MIBI

International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part A. Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1989
The manufacturer recommends that the radiochemical purity of 99mTc-MIBI be determined with alumina TLC plates developed in ethanol, but for routine use this is slow and requires care. After comparing a variety of systems, we obtained equivalent results using ITLC-SG strips developed with saline to determine [99mTc]pertechnetate and with acetone to ...

Purity and stability of radiochemical tracers in autoradiography

Journal of Microscopy, 1972
SUMMARYAutoradiography is used as a means of ‘visualizing’ the results of tracer investigations; it gives a measure of ‘events’ which have already occurred. This paper discusses some of the problems peculiar to radiochemicals which should be clearly recognized prior to the application of autoradiographic techniques and the interpretation of the data ...

Production of 237Pu with high radiochemical purity

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 1993
Abstract 237 Pu (half-life 45.3 d) is a valid metabolic tracer for the long-lived isotopes of plutonium, but its use in human subjects has previously been restricted by difficulties in producing it with acceptable isotopic purity. These difficulties have been overcome by applying mass-separation techniques to the impure product of irradiating 235 U

Evaluation of different counting methods for use in radiochemical purity testing procedures for 99mTc-labelled radiopharmaceuticals [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Radiation and Isotopes, 2008
The efficiency and accuracy of different methods for quality control of radiopharmaceutical preparations for diagnostic purpose were studied. The radiochemical purity of 99mTc Tetrafosmin, 99mTc Exametazime, 99mTc Sestamibi and 99mTc Oxidronate was ...
