Multi-scale morphological image enhancement of chest radiographs by a hybrid scheme
Chest radiography is a common diagnostic imaging test, which contains an enormous amount of information about a patient. However, its interpretation is highly challenging. The accuracy of the diagnostic process is greatly influenced by image processing algorithms; hence enhancement of the images is indispensable in order to improve visibility of the ...

Accuracy of cephalometric landmarks on monitor-displayed radiographs with and without image emboss enhancement [PDF]
The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of some commonly used cephalometric landmarks of monitor-displayed images with and without image emboss enhancement. The following null hypothesis was tested: there is no improvement in landmark detection accuracy between monitor-displayed images, with and without image embossing enhancement.

Caries detection enhancement using texture feature maps of intraoral radiographs
Dental caries are caused by tooth demineralization due to bacterial plaque formation. However, the resulting lesions are often discrete and thus barely recognizable in intraoral radiography images.

Peptide‐Based Biomaterials as a Promising Tool for Cancer Radiotherapy
This review provides a systematic overview of peptide‐based biomaterials in tumor radiotherapy, covering their roles as both radiosensitizers and radiopharmaceuticals. Peptide‐based radiosensitizers are generally divided into three categories: peptides as direct radiosensitizers, peptides as carriers of radiosensitizers, and targeted‐peptide‐modified ...

Radiographic analysis of sedimentary structures and depositional histories in Apollo 15 cores [PDF]
Radiographs of the Apollo 15 deepdrill drive tubes were analyzed on an SDS electronic enhancer to determine sedimentary structures in the core samples. The data obtained were compared with all other Apollo mission radiographs and used to make inferences ...

This work identifies a novel mechanism by which dopamine D1 receptor (DRD1) contributes to the pathogenesis of glucocorticoid (GC)‐associated osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) through the regulation of osteoblastic apoptosis, indicating that DRD1 serves as a critical mediator of the crosstalk between the nervous and skeletal systems.

An operando methodology combining synchrotron X‐ray micro‐computed tomography (SR‐µCT) and high‐energy X‐ray diffraction (HEXRD) investigates uranium dendrite electrodeposition in LiCl‐KCl‐UCl3 molten salt. This enabled in‐situ visualization of dendrite growth and ion diffusion dynamics.

Background Dual-energy subtraction (DES) imaging is critical in contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM), as the recombination of low-energy (LE) and high-energy (HE) images produces contrast enhancement while reducing anatomical noise.
