Localized prostate cancer treated with intensity-modulated radiotherapy

open access: yes, 2006
AIMS AND BACKGROUND: The development and use of new radiotherapy techniques, especially 3D conformal radiotherapy or intensity-modulated radiotherapy, has allowed the safe application of high doses of external beam radiotherapy without increasing ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

POSTOPERATIVE INTENSITY-MODULATED RADIOTHERAPY FOR SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA OF THE EXTERNAL AUDITORY CANAL AND MIDDLE EAR: TREATMENT OUTCOMES, MARGINAL MISSES, AND PERSPECTIVE ON TARGET DELINEATION

open access: yes, 2017
Purpose: To report outcomes of the rare disease of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the external auditory canal (EAC) and middle ear treated with surgery and postoperative intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT).

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...

Modern External Beam Radiotherapy Techniques - Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy

open access: yes, 2009
External beam radiotherapy is a complex cancer radiotherapy technique involving three-dimensional conformal and intensity-modulated radiation therapy high-energy X-ray beam delivery to tumour volumes where dose distributions and treatment plan ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Application of Simultaneous Integrated Boost Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy in Locally Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2019
Background and objective The standard treatment for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is radiotherapy concurrent with chemotherapy, but the survival was not satisfied.

Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy versus intensity-modulated radiotherapy in carcinoma cervix

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Scientific Research, 2018
Background: Cervical cancer is the most common gynecological cancer among Indian women. 3D-CRT treatment is associated with more acute and late toxicities, because of close proximity of bladder and rectum to the cervix.
