Extending the Radius of Convergence of the Drinfeld Module Logarithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Drinfeld modules are, in essence, a way to create a function field analogue to complex multiplication. With these modules, we can define a logarithm function analogous to the natural logarithm by virtue of a power series.

Deret Maclaurin Turunan Fraksional Fungsi Inverse Trigonometri dan Radius Kekonverganannya

open access: yesJambura Journal of Mathematics
Fractional derivatives are a generalization of ordinary derivatives to non-integer or fractional orders. This study presents the fractional derivatives of inverse trigonometric functions (arcsin, arccos, and arctan) with the order constraint 0 α ≤ 1 ...

On a class of efficient higher order Newton-like methods

open access: yesMathematical Modelling and Analysis, 2019
Based on a two-step Newton-like scheme, we propose a three-step scheme of convergence order p+2 (p >=3) for solving systems of nonlinear equations. Furthermore, on the basis of this scheme a generalized k+2-step scheme with increasing convergence order p+

Bone‐Inspired Recyclable Composites for Damage‐Tolerant Circular Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bone‐inspired architected composites are developed by combining osteon‐like reinforcements with a recyclable Elium thermoplastic matrix. The hierarchical architecture redirects cracks and promotes energy dissipation, while enabling recovery of intact, aligned, load‐bearing reinforcement units that retain their original stiffness, revealing a route ...

Load Distributing Metamaterials Via Discrete Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanical metamaterials are computationally optimized to homogenize transmitted forces by minimizing the spread of reaction forces. The resulting architectures transform localized loading into broader, more uniform force distributions and experimentally demonstrate robust load spreading under quasi‐static and impact loading.

Thermoresponsive Liquid Crystalline Polymer Coatings Programmed by Field‐Induced Topological Defects for Tunable Optical and Topographical Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Resonant standing waves generate large‐area lattices of liquid‐crystal topological defects that are permanently encoded into polymer coatings by photopolymerization. The preserved director architecture produces thermally reconfigurable surface topographies while maintaining programmable optical functionality, demonstrating a scalable strategy for ...

On the local convergence and stability analysis of a two-step iterative method for solving non-linear equations

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science
Finding efficient and accurate solutions to non-linear equations is a critical challenge in many scientific and engineering fields. Iterative methods often require a well-chosen initial point to ensure convergence, but determining this point can be ...

Melanin's Role in Balancing Mechanical Strength and Reproductive Output in Environmentally Stressed Fungal Spores

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Melanin content directly controls fungal spore mechanical properties, with pigmented spores achieving rupture forces two orders of magnitude higher than hyaline spores. Environmental stress drives this quantity‐quality tradeoff; stressed species invest energy in melanin‐reinforced, mechanically superior thick‐walled, super‐hydrophobic spores, while ...

Linear High-Order Distributed Average Consensus Algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2010
This paper presents a linear high-order distributed average consensus (DAC) algorithm for wireless sensor networks. The average consensus property and the convergence rate of the high-order DAC algorithm are analyzed.
