Impact of Dynamic Characteristics of Wheel-Rail Coupling on Rail Corrugation
SAE International Journal of Vehicle Dynamics, Stability, and NVH, 2019<div>To gain a better understanding of the characteristics of corrugation, including the development and propagation of corrugation, and impact of vehicle and track dynamics, a computational model was established, taking into account the nonlinearity of vehicle-track coupling.

Effect of sleeper distance on rail corrugation
Wear, 1998The present paper looks at the effect of sleeper separation on rail corrugation growth. The case under study involves short pitch corrugations on the low rail in sharp bends, the bends in question being those of metro-type railways in Bilbao, with the track on concrete slabs and with two resilient stages of STEDEF type.

On residual stresses in corrugated rails and wheel/rail interaction
1992In recent years the problem of rail corrugations has become more and more important. Thus, there is a strong need for reliable models describing this phenomenon. Several factors which influence the development of corrugations will be discussed, and the dynamic effects in wheel/rail rolling contact processes are considered.

Rail corrugation in The Netherlands—measurements and simulations
Wear, 2002Abstract Rail roughness growth on Dutch railway tracks has been monitored since the early 1990s. On the track between Amersfoort and Baarn, significantly different levels of roughness have been detected on adjacent tangent track sections. The only obvious difference between two selected test sites located 250 m apart, one with a smooth rail and one ...
