Economic effects of disease outbreaks on U.S. salmonid farms

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract The U.S. salmonid industry is the second‐largest finfish sector of U.S. aquaculture, contributing $886 million and more than 2000 jobs to the U.S. economy in 2022. The goal of this study was to develop an economic analysis of the impact of losses from disease outbreaks to the U.S. salmonid industry.

Amazon river prawn larvae incorporate astaxanthin in response to dietary supplementation with Bixa orellana

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 57, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract This study evaluated the effects of dietary bixin, a carotenoid from Bixa orellana, on larval development, post‐larval performance, and carotenoid deposition in Macrobrachium amazonicum under controlled conditions. Larvae were reared in a recirculating aquaculture system with a moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) and fed Artemia nauplii and an ...

The Ames impact structure, Oklahoma: New radioisotopic constraints and implications for North American impact chronology

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 2103-2139, August 2026.
Abstract The Ames impact structure (Oklahoma) is thought to have formed during the Ordovician Meteor Event, based on conodont biostratigraphy of its crater fill. Here, U–Pb zircon dates from its impact‐melt portion, conducted using secondary ion mass spectrometry and laser ablation–inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry (n = 37 spots), yield a ...

On a Ramsey–Turán variant of Roth's theorem

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract A classical theorem of Roth states that the maximum size of a solution‐free set of a homogeneous linear equation L$\mathcal {L}$ in Fp$\mathbb {F}_p$ is o(p)$o(p)$ if and only if the sum of the coefficients of L$\mathcal {L}$ is 0. In this paper, we prove a Ramsey–Turán variant of Roth's theorem, with respect to a natural notion of “structured”
