Slip-line metal cutting model with negative rake angle [PDF]
A small dead region is seen in front of the rake face of the tool during cutting with negative rake. The lack of knowledge about the stagnant region in the cutting with negative rake requires researching new models. In this work, cutting mechanism of the metal cutting with negative rake angle tools and the stagnation zone formation were studied.

Influence of the Rake Angle on Nanocutting of Fe Single Crystals: A Molecular-Dynamics Study [PDF]
Using molecular dynamics simulation, we study the cutting of an Fe single crystal using tools with various rake angles α . We focus on the (110)[001] cut system, since here, the crystal plasticity is governed by a simple mechanism for not too ...

About the best value of rake angle for cutting tools [PDF]
Regardless of whether the case of processing through methods of cutting metal, wood, plastics, stone, composite materials etc., the rake angle (γ) is of major importance for energy efficiency and dynamic behaviour of cutting process, dimensional accuracy, work surface quality and pieces made cost.

Geometrical analysis of thread milling – Part 1: Evaluation of tool angles [PDF]
Thread milling is a method which is increasingly used for machining thread. For this operation, a helical interpolation is required. Furthermore, the thread mill is a tool whose geometry is rather complex.

Forces and loosening characteristics of a new winged chisel plough
This study was devoted to verifying the performance of various configurations of a winged chisel plough (WCP) in a soil bin. The performance of the new tool was assessed at three wing depths (5, 10 and 15 cm), three bend angles (10, 20 and 30 °), and ...

Geometric nonlinearities of aircraft systems [PDF]
Nonlinearities due to geometric effects, in particular, via angular variables that are not small, are important for aircraft operation. Geometric nonlinearities have a strong effect on the dynamics of the aircraft system under consideration, and they are

Improvement of Cutting Forces Modeling Based on Oriented Cutting Tests [PDF]
In order to predict the characteristics of the machined part, such as geometry, surface roughness and fatigue or corrosion resistance, the cutting forces values should be known as precisely as possible.
