Effect of Rake Angle on Surface Roughness in CNC Turning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advance Research and Innovation, 2014
The work and study presented in this paper aims to investigate the effect of rake angle on surface roughness in CNC turning of Aluminium (6061) with keeping other machining parameters such as cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut as constant. Three positive rake angled tools selected to study and analyze the effect of cutting conditions on surface ...

Research on Metal Cutting by Negative Rake Angled Tool

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society of Precision Engineering, 1956

Shearing Mechanical Behavior of Cotton Stalks Under Residual-Film Wrapping Constraints in a Single-Support Cutting Configuration

open access: yesAgriEngineering
To address the high energy consumption and low efficiency in shredding film–stalk mixtures during the resource utilization of cotton-field residues in Xinjiang—issues arising from the large mechanical-property differences among the mixture components—a ...

Effect of Axial Rake Angle on Burr Formation in Milling.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 1998
Burr formation in milling is a three dimensional deformation. Burr formation is different from deformation in continuous cutting. In burr formation on exit surfaces of workpieces, the continuous cutting before burr formation is considered to be an initial condition of bur formation and plastic deformation of workpiece edge formed by the tool exit is ...

Force coefficient characterization in machining of UD-CFRP using numerical-analytical approach

open access: yesPolymers and Polymer Composites
A numerical-analytical approach was utilized to construct a predictive model of cutting force for machining unidirectional carbon fiber reinforced polymer (UD-CFRP) laminates. The force coefficients in the model, which include friction angle, shear plane

Simulation and Experiments on Fabrication of Strain Controllable Aluminum Strips by Stepped Rake Angle Tool

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao
The reduction of the tool rake angle in the extrusion machining process is conducive to increase the shear strain and grain refinement, but it easily leads to problems such as strip extrusion difficulties and poor surface quality.
