A Raman spectroscopic comparison of calcite and dolomite [PDF]
Raman spectroscopy was used to characterize and differentiate the two minerals calcite and dolomite and the bands related to the mineral structure. The (CO3)(2-) group is characterized by four prominent Raman vibrational modes: (a) the symmetric stretching, (b) the asymmetric deformation, (c) asymmetric stretching and (d) symmetric deformation.

Raman Spectroscopic Studies of Dinaphthothienothiophene (DNTT) [PDF]
The application of dinaphthothienothiophene (DNTT) molecules, a novel organic semiconductor material, has recently increased due to its high charge carrier mobility and thermal stability. Since the structural properties of DNTT molecules, such as the molecular density distribution and molecular orientations, significantly affect their charge carrier ...

Raman spectroscopic discrimination of estrogens
Estrogens are a group of steroid compounds found in the human body that are eventually discharged and ultimately end up in sewer effluents. Since these compounds can potentially affect the endocrine system its detection and quantification in sewer water is important.

Raman spectroscopic studies of hydrogen clathrate hydrates [PDF]
Raman spectroscopic measurements of simple hydrogen and tetrahydrofuran+hydrogen sII clathrate hydrates have been performed. Both the roton and vibron bands illuminate interesting quantum dynamics of enclathrated H2 molecules. The complex vibron region of the Raman spectrum has been interpreted by observing the change in population of these bands with ...

Structure of TiAlN Reactive Sputtered Coatings [PDF]
The Raman spectra, X-ray diffraction and hardness of the TiAlN films co-deposited on the steel substrates by reactive sputtering from Ti and Al targets in a mixture of N2 + Ar gas with two magnetrons at room temperature have been studied.

Mechanisms of Ions Adsorption by Nanodiamonds in Aqueous Suspensions [PDF]
This work is devoted to the study of adsorption properties and adsorption mechanisms of the original (I6), modified (I6COOH) nanodiamonds and charcoal dispersed in water, with respect to dissolved ions (Cu2 +, Pb2 +, NO3 –, CH3COO –) using optical ...

New Way of As2S3 Microtubules Preparation by Roll Up Thin Films Synthesized at the Air-Solution Interface [PDF]
For the first time the conditions of synthesis As2S3 microtubules were defined. Investigation of the synthesized scroll-like structures was carried out by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe analysis, X-ray diffraction ...

Summary Mycorrhizal associations between fungi and plants are a fundamental aspect of terrestrial ecosystems. Mycorrhizas occur in c. 85% of extant plants, yet their geological record remains sparse. Rare fossil evidence from early terrestrial environments offers crucial insights into these ancient symbioses, but visualizing fossil fungi at the ...
