Carbonylation of hair proteins: A robust biomarker of molecular and structural oxidative damage in hair fibres

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 604-625, August 2025.
The protein carbonylation biomarker is validated as reliable molecular damage marker to monitor hair oxidative damage (chemical and photo oxidation). It is slightly more sensitive than the cysteic acid in the case of photochemical oxidation and allows to geolocate qualitatively and quantitatively the oxidation within the hair fibre substructures ...

Protective effects of Paeonia suffruticosa callus extract in skin through anti‐inflammation and repair UVB‐induced damage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 47, Issue 4, Page 652-664, August 2025.
Peony callus extract (PCE) is beneficial for skin anti‐ageing and sensitivity induced by UVB radiation, through decreasing the level of inflammatory factors and matrix metalloproteinases. Furthermore, our research indicates that PCE effectively improves the total collagen content in human skin. Abstract Objective The study investigated effects of peony

A Raman spectroscopic study of alunites [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Molecular Structure, 2006
Raman spectroscopy at 298 and 77 K has been used to characterise alunites [M(Al )(SO)(OH) ] where M is the monovalent cations K, Na, NH . The minerals are characterised by well-defined hydroxyl stretching patterns, which give two groups of hydrogen bonds with calculated hydrogen bond distances of 2.90 and 2.84-7 Å.
