Performance Analysis of a Novel Hybrid S-ALOHA/TDMA Protocol for Beta Distributed Massive MTC Access

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Simultaneous random access of massive machine type communications (MTC) devices are expected to cause congestion in the radio access network. Not only the performance of MTC, but the coexisting human to human (H2H) communications would also degrade ...

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Engineering of defects in resistive random access memory devices

open access: yes, 2020
Defects are essential to switch the resistance states in resistive random-access memory (RRAM) devices. Controlled defects in such devices can lead to the stabilization of the switching performance, which is useful for high-density memory and ...

Optimisation Of The Interference Cost Generated By

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, we investigate the optimisation of the Random Access CHannel (RACH) of the UMTS FDD system in terms of generated interference. Conditional on open loop measurements, we search the best initial energy of the RACH in order to reduce the ...

SaRA: Sensing-Aware Random Access for Integrated Satellite-Terrestrial Networks

open access: yesAerospace
Integrated satellite-terrestrial networks are crucial for critical communications, yet the initial access for user equipment (UE) is hampered by signal blockage and dynamic loads, challenging traditional random access (RA) mechanisms in achieving low ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Grammar Compression With Support to Fast Substring Extraction

open access: yesIEEE Access
We present a simple grammar-based compression strategy derived from the factorization used in the DC3 suffix-sorting algorithm that supports fast substring extraction. The input string is partitioned into non-overlapping substrings of fixed length $X$ ,

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

A Satellite Handover Strategy Based on the Potential Game in LEO Satellite Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In a low earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, handover management across satellite spot beams needs to be addressed to decrease handover times while using network resources efficiently since the speed of LEO satellites is much higher than that of mobile ...
