Deterministically driven random walks in a random environment on Z [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We introduce the concept of a deterministic walk in a deterministic environment on a countable state space (DWDE). For the deterministic walk in a fixed environment we establish properties analogous to those found in Markov chain theory, but for systems ...

Criticality for branching processes in random environment

open access: yes, 2005
We study branching processes in an i.i.d. random environment, where the associated random walk is of the oscillating type. This class of processes generalizes the classical notion of criticality.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Random walks in random environment: What a single trajectory tells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present a procedure that determines the law of a random walk in an iid random environment as a function of a single "typical" trajectory. We indicate when the trajectory characterizes the law of the environment, and we say how this law can be ...

Random walks in random hypergeometric environment

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Probability, 2020

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

A Magnet-Coil-Type Bistable Vibration Energy Harvester for Random Wave Environment

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2022
In this study, a new bistable vibration energy harvesting system is developed by originally proposing a bistable vibration model comprising a spring and a mass block and then applying a vibration generator composed of a coil and a magnet.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
