Effective field theory analysis of 3D random field Ising model on isometric lattices
Ising model with quenched random magnetic fields is examined for single Gaussian, bimodal and double Gaussian random field distributions by introducing an effective field approximation that takes into account the correlations between different spins that

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

The Hierarchical Random Energy Model
We introduce a Random Energy Model on a hierarchical lattice where the interaction strength between variables is a decreasing function of their mutual hierarchical distance, making it a non-mean field model.

Sharp asymptotics for metastability in the random field Curie-Weiss model [PDF]
In this paper we study the metastable behavior of one of the simplest disordered spin system, the random field Curie-Weiss model. We will show how the potential theoretic approach can be used to prove sharp estimates on capacities and metastable exit ...

Hopfield Models as Generalized Random Mean Field Models
We give a comprehensive self-contained review on the rigorous analysis of the thermodynamics of a class of random spin systems of mean field type whose most prominent example is the Hopfield model. We focus on the low temperature phase and the analysis of the Gibbs measures with large deviation techniques.

The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Critical Exponents of the Three Dimensional Random Field Ising Model
The phase transition of the three--dimensional random field Ising model with a discrete ($\pm h$) field distribution is investigated by extensive Monte Carlo simulations.

The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

Damage spreading in random field systems
We investigate how a quenched random field influences the damage spreading transition in kinetic Ising models. To this end we generalize a recent master equation approach and derive an effective field theory for damage spreading in random field systems ...

Analysis of the long-range random field quantum antiferromagnetic Ising model [PDF]
We introduce a solvable quantum antiferromagnetic model. The model, with Ising spins in a transverse field, has infinite range antiferromagnetic interactions with random fields on each site, following an arbitrary distribution.
