On Random Number Generation for Kernel Applications
An operating system kernel uses cryptographically secure pseudorandom number generator for creating address space localization randomization offsets to protect memory addresses to processes from exploration, storing users' password securely and creating cryptographic keys.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Laser-engraved holograms as entropy source for random number generators
Our study introduces a novel approach to true random number generation (TRNG) using speckle patterns generated by laser-engraved holograms on carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite substrates.

On the Construction of Random Number Generators and Random Function Generators [PDF]
Blum, Micali (1982), Yao (1982), Goldreich, Goldwasser and Micali (1984), and Luby, Rackoff (1986) have constructed random number generators, random function generators and random permutation generators that are perfect if certain complexity assumptions hold.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Superparamagnetic perpendicular magnetic tunnel junctions for true random number generators
Superparamagnetic perpendicular magnetic tunnel junctions are fabricated and analyzed for use in random number generators. Time-resolved resistance measurements are used as streams of bits in statistical tests for randomness.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

On Simulation of the Young Measures – Comparison of Random-Number Generators
"Young measure" is an abstract notion from mathematical measure theory. Originally, the notion appeared in the context of some variational problems related to the analysis of sequences of “fast” oscillating of functions.

THE GENERATING RANDOM SEQUENCES WITH THE INCREASED CRYPTOGRAPHIC STRENGTH
Random sequences are used in various applications in construction of cryptographic systems or formations of noise-type signals. For these tasks there is used the program generator of random sequences which is the determined device. Such a generator, as a
