Compressive Data Gathering Based on Even Clustering for Wireless Sensor Networks
Compressive data gathering (CDG) based on compressed sensing (CS) theory for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) greatly reduces the amount of data transmitted compared with the traditional acquisition method that each node forwards the collected data ...

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Partial inhibition of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) can paradoxically promote tumor growth, rather than simply producing a weaker antitumor effect than that observed with strong FAK suppression. In breast cancer and melanoma models, targeting p110δ PI3K, particularly in macrophages, counteracted these tumor‐promoting effects, highlighting the importance ...

This study integrates publicly available transcriptomic datasets to identify molecular signatures associated with response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. By analyzing a combination of multiple cohorts with bioinformatics approaches, we reveal biological pathways and immune‐related features that may improve ...

Distinguishability-Driven Voice Generation for Speaker Anonymization via Random Projection and GMM
Speaker anonymization effectively conceals speaker identity in speech signals to protect privacy. To address issues in existing anonymization systems, including reduced voice distinguishability, limited anonymized voices, reliance on an external speaker ...

Random Projection and Its Applications
Random Projection is a foundational research topic that connects a bunch of machine learning algorithms under a similar mathematical basis. It is used to reduce the dimensionality of the dataset by projecting the data points efficiently to a smaller dimensions while preserving the original relative distance between the data points.

Projection Pursuit for Exploratory Supervised Classification [PDF]
In high-dimensional data, one often seeks a few interesting low-dimensional projections that reveal important features of the data. Projection pursuit is a procedure for searching high-dimensional data for interesting low-dimensional projections via the ...

High‐risk bladder cancer is typically treated with Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG), but 30–40% of patients relapse. No FDA‐ or CE‐approved biomarkers currently predict or prognosticate BCG failure. We systematically reviewed the literature and identified 72 eligible studies, revealing several promising biomarkers associated with BCG treatment response ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...
