Investigation of aerosol resuspension model based on random contact with rough surface
Under nuclear reactor severe accidents, the resuspension of radioactive aerosol may occur in the containment due to the disturbing airflow generated by hydrogen combustion, hydrogen explosion and containment depressurization resulting in the increase of ...

Analysis of surface roughness in relation to soil loss and runoff at high rainfall intensities. [PDF]
The decay of roughness is an important factor governing surface processes such as infiltration and soil erosion. Thus the decay of surface roughness under different surface conditions was investigated and related to quantitative amounts of soil loss ...

Defining True Tribological Contact Through Application of the Morphological Method to Surface Topography [PDF]
In tribological functions high peaks (summits) in the surface topography play a dominant role in that they determine the position of first contact and how the contact will occur.

Patch area and uniform sampling on the surface of any ellipsoid
Algorithms for generating uniform random points on a triaxial ellipsoid are non-trivial to verify because of the non-analytical form of the surface area.

Adsorption of polymers on a random surface [PDF]
We investigate the adsorption of a polymer on a planar, random surface. For this we use a generalization of de Gennes's boundary condition to a random one, and path-integral methods. For weak randomness, the chain size is reduced slightly from its value in the absence of randomness.

Surface Reconstruction With Optimized Random Laser Plane Generated From Cylindrical Reference
A reconstruction approach is presented with a random laser plane and a cylindrical reference. A semi-cylinder reference with the known diameter is designed as the cylindrical-coordinate-system.
