Surface-Restructuring Differences between Polyrotaxanes and Random Copolymers in Aqueous Environment

open access: yes, 2018
In the present study, we investigated the surface reorganization behaviors and adsorption conformations of fibrinogen on the surface of polyrotaxanes containing different amounts of α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) by using surface-sensitive vibrational ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

A Two-Step Downscaling Model for MODIS Land Surface Temperature Based on Random Forests

open access: yesAtmosphere
High-spatiotemporal-resolution surface temperature data play a crucial role in monitoring urban heat island effects. Compared with Landsat 8, MODIS surface temperature products offer high temporal resolution but suffer from low spatial resolution.

Acoustic Scattering Models from Rough Surfaces: A Brief Review and Recent Advances

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper proposes a brief review of acoustic wave scattering models from rough surfaces. This review is intended to provide an up-to-date survey of the analytical approximate or semi-analytical methods that are encountered in acoustic scattering from ...

Random Surfaces

open access: yesAstérisque, 2018
We study "random surfaces," which are random real (or integer) valued functions on Z^d. The laws are determined by convex, nearest neighbor, difference potentials that are invariant under translation by a full-rank sublattice L of Z^d; they include many discrete and continuous height models (e.g., domino tilings, square ice, the harmonic crystal, the ...

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Force Identification from Vibration Data by Response Surface and Random Forest Regression Algorithms

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Several dynamic projects and fault diagnosis of mechanical structures require the knowledge of the acting external forces. However, the measurement of such forces is often difficult or even impossible; in such cases, an inverse problem must be solved ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Random Walk on a Rough Surface: Renormalization Group Analysis of a Simple Model

open access: yesUniverse, 2023
The field-theoretic renormalization group is applied to a simple model of a random walk on a rough fluctuating surface. We consider the Fokker–Planck equation for a particle in a uniform gravitational field.
