Some Calibration Estimators of the Mean of a Sensitive Variable Under Measurement Error

open access: yesMathematics
This study explores the estimation of the mean of a sensitive variable using calibration estimators under measurement error. Three randomized response techniques are evaluated: Partial Randomized Response Technique, Compulsory Randomized Response ...

New Randomized Response Procedures [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2012
This article focuses on the estimation of population proportion when the study variable is sensitive in nature. Two implicit randomized response techniques are proposed where the unrelated trait can be chosen subjectively.

More is not always better: An experimental individual-level validation of the randomized response technique and the crosswise model. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Social desirability and the fear of sanctions can deter survey respondents from responding truthfully to sensitive questions. Self-reports on norm breaking behavior such as shoplifting, non-voting, or tax evasion may thus be subject to considerable ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Filtered Randomized Response Technique

open access: yesCommunications for Statistical Applications and Methods, 2006
Randomized response technique is a survey technique for eliminating evasive answer bias. This technique is popular in social survey for sensitive issues. In this paper we present a simple and obvious procedure for estimating the population proportion of a sensitive group. Here, we shows the weak point in the method of Kim and Warde (2005).

Randomized Response Techniques for Complex Survey Designs [PDF]

open access: yesStatistical Papers, 2007
Singh et al. ([13]) pointed out that the Randomized response (RR) technique proposed by Moors ([9]) is not desirable because it fails to protect the confidentiality of the respondents and they provided two alternative strategies free from the above drawback but limited to SRSWOR sampling only.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Estimation of Small Area Total with Randomized Data

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2020
In social surveys involving questions that are sensitive or personal in nature, respondents may not provide correct answers to certain questions asked by the interviewer.

The improvement of corn yield and fresh stover weight through two mass selection techniques in dry land

open access: yesJournal für Kulturpflanzen, 2022
This study aims to determine the response of the yield and fresh stover weight of corn under mass selection by pollination control and base index techniques and to determine the increase in yield and fresh stover after seven mass selection cycles ...
