Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Exact and Approximate Range Mode Query Data Structures in Practice [PDF]
We conduct an experimental study on the range mode problem. In the exact version of the problem, we preprocess an array A, such that given a query range [a, b], the most frequent element in A[a, b] can be found efficiently.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

UDPLDP-Tree: Range Queries Under User-Distinguished Personalized Local Differential Privacy
Local Differential Privacy (LDP) and its personalized variants (PLDP) have been widely used for privacy-preserving data analytics. However, existing schemes often enforce a uniform indistinguishability level among users, failing to accommodate the ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Statistical structures for internet-scale data management [PDF]
Efficient query processing in traditional database management systems relies on statistics on base data. For centralized systems, there is a rich body of research results on such statistics, from simple aggregates to more elaborate synopses such as ...

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified

FGBC-iDistance:fine-grained bit-code filter based high-dimensional index
In the high-dimensional vector retrieval, distance computation is a very time-consuming operation, the current research trend is to reduce the distance computation using divide and conquer algorithm.iDistance algorithm divides the vector space into ...

The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This
