Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Estimators In The Ranked Set Sampling [PDF]
Ranked Set Sampling (RSS) is an alternative design of the Simple Random Sampling. The RSS design has some advantages according the Simple Random Sampling. For example, by this design, efficient estimates can be obtained using less data in the sample. In Chapter 5, the usage of this practical design is explained and some basic estimators are examined in

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

The Use of Ranked Set Sampling with Balanced Acceptance Sampling [PDF]
Ranked set sampling is a design that can increase sample efficiency by forcing sample coverage over the range of response values in the population. Balanced acceptance sampling (BAS) has a similar aim, with sample efficiency coming from ensuring coverage ...

Efficient body fat estimation using multistage pair ranked set sampling
Rank-based sampling methods are applicable in settings where precise measurements are expensive, but small sets of units can be accurately ranked at negligible cost.

In this study, we introduce a novel combined ratio type estimator within the framework of Stratified Ranked Set Sampling to estimate the population mean of the study variable by incorporating bivariate auxiliary information.

Bayesian mixture modelling with ranked set samples
We consider the Bayesian estimation of the parameters of a finite mixture model from independent order statistics arising from imperfect ranked set sampling designs. As a cost‐effective method, ranked set sampling enables us to incorporate easily attainable characteristics, as ranking information, into data collection and Bayesian estimation. To handle

Ubiquitination of secretory granules promotes their crinophagic degradation in Drosophila
Ubiquitination of secretory granules in Drosophila larval salivary glands is a critical molecular trigger for crinophagy, the lysosomal degradation of unreleased, or low‐quality granules. The E3 ubiquitin ligase Cnot4 is recruited to the surface of secretory granules to induce crinophagy.

On comparison of some variation of ranked set sampling
Many sampling methods have been suggested for estimating the population median. In the situation when the sampling units in a study can be easily ranked than quantified, the ranked set sampling methods are found to be more efficient and cost effective as

Induced Ranked Set Sampling when Units are Inducted from Several Populations
The method of ranked set sampling when units are to be inducted from several bivariate populations is introduced in this work. The best linear unbiased estimation of a common parameter of two bivariate Pareto distributions is discussed based on the n ...
