Plasma EV Proteomics Identifies ECM Remodeling and Inflammatory Proteins LUM and C7 as Candidate Biomarkers in FSHD

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...

Microstructural Evolution during Partial Melting and Semisolid Forming Behaviors of Two Hot-Extruded Magnesium-Rare Earth Alloys

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Reheating experiments and semisolid compression tests were conducted on two hot-extruded magnesium-rare earth (Mg-RE) alloys, Mg-8.20Gd-4.48Y-0.36Zr-3.34Zn and Mg-3.75Gd-5.15Y-0.75Zr-3.05Zn by using a multistage hot compression test machine.

Experimental Evaluation of 100Cr6 Steel Microindented Surfaces Under Lubricated Nonconformal Point Contacts

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

Optimal piston crevice study in a rapid compression machine

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2017
Multi-dimensional effects such as vortex generation and heat losses from the gas to the wall of the reactor chamber have been an issue to obtaining a reliable RCM data. This vortex initiates a flow in the relatively cold boundary layer, which may penetrate the core gas.

Electrochemical Evaluation of Compressed Selective Laser Melted AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg Alloys in Chloride Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The corrosion performance of AlSi7Mg and AlSi10Mg alloys produced through selective laser melting (SLM) was examined under compressive stress in a chloride environment. Electrochemical analyses, including open‐circuit potential (OCP), potentiodynamic polarization (CPP), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), were complemented by scanning ...
