Rapid Coronavirus Detection Sensor

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2020
With an everyday surge in the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases, it is still being debated in different parts of the world on how the tests per day have to be increased and available to everyone. This would help identifying the affected people at the earliest stages and treat the symptoms when they are benign.

Rapid Interference Detection

1991
An algorithm for rapid interference detection between arbitrarily shaped objects is described. The approach uses a dual representation of each object, those being a wireframe and a discretized volume (octree and raycast). Interference is detected when a portion of the wireframe of one object is contained in the volume of the other.

Rapid detection of traumatic brain injury

Nature Biomedical Engineering, 2020
An optofluidic chip incorporating a surface-enhanced Raman-scattering substrate rapidly detects picomolar concentrations of biomarkers of traumatic brain injury in finger-prick blood samples from patients.

Rapid detection of positive blood cultures

Journal of Clinical Microbiology, 1983
A study of 16,108 blood cultures investigated the value of performing early smears in addition to the inspection of early subcultures after 12 h of incubation. The early smear and subculture detected 44.6% of 1,236 positive cultures; of those detected by the early subculture, 57.3% grew after 12 h of incubation.

RAPID MICROBIOLOGICAL DETECTION

1963
Abstract : A new bioluminescent chamber was designed and constructed and has resulted in a three-fold increase in reaction sensitivity. For use in conjunction with the new chamber, a Photovolt 520 photometer and a Photovolt 44 linear recorder were purchased.

Rapid Detection of Accelerators

Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1938
Abstract Where doubt exists rubber technologists may at times require a prompt answer as to whether accelerators are present in a rubber compound. It was necessary therefore to develop specific reactions and methods of procedure which make it possible to determine each individual accelerator in the presence of other accelerators. The procedures

Novel developments in rapid mycotoxin detection

Mycotoxin Research, 2006
Rapid antibody-based mycotoxin screening techniques are designed to be used outside a laboratory environment, at the place of sampling. Results are expected immediately, so that commodities can be further processed without delay. Because they are used for mycotoxin analysis, very low levels (ppb and ppt range) should be detected.

Rapid Detection of Phloem-Restricted Mollicutes

1993
Three different types of pathogenic prokaryotes (spiroplasmas, MLOs, and BLOs) can be found in the phloem of plants. They are more precisely localized in the sieve tubes of the phloem tissue, i.e. the vessels in which the photosynthetically-enriched sap circulates.

Rapid Method to Detect CIS-Cells

1997
Seminoma cells, like intratubular tumor cells (carcinoma in situ), are characterized by abundant cytoplasmic glycogen. Visualization of glycogen in histologic sections has been shown to be a valuable diagnostic tool for detecting tumor cells in testicular tissue provided that appropriate fixatives were used to preserve the glycogen in the cells.
