We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Coal mine low power laser methane detection and alarm instrument [PDF]
At present, the portable carrier catalytic methane detection and alarm instrument for coal mine generally has many problems, such as high power consumption, short standby time, low detection accuracy, few parameters and single function, which can not ...

Rapid West Nile Virus Antigen Detection
We compared the VecTest WNV antigen assay with standard methods of West Nile virus (WNV) detection in swabs from American Crows (Corvus brachyrhynchos) and House Sparrows (Passer domesticus). The VecTest detected WNV more frequently than the plaque assay and was comparable to a TaqMan reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Relation between serology of meat juice and bacteriology of tonsils and feces for the detection of enteropathogenic Yersinia spp. in pigs at slaughter [PDF]
The association between positive serology and culture detection of Yersinia spp. in individual pigs was determined. Pieces of diaphragm from 370 pig carcasses were collected for serological analysis, and tonsils and feces of the same carcass were ...

Rapid stereo-vision enhanced face detection
This paper presents a real-time face detection algorithm. It improves state-of-the-art 2D object detection techniques by additionally evaluating a disparity map, which is estimated for the face region using a calibrated stereo camera setup. First, faces are detected in the 2D images with a rapid object classifier based on haar-like features.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
