Cloning of the Coat Protein Gene of Little Cherry Virus 1 and the Preparation of a Polyclonal Antibody

open access: yesInternational Journal of Fruit Science
Little cherry disease (LChD) is a serious viral disease that significantly reduces the yield and quality of sweet cherries. And Little cherry virus 1 (LChV-1) is a major pathogen. To facilitate the rapid and efficient detection of LChV-1, we successfully

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Rapid identification of Lonicera japonica via Proofman-LMTIA technology

open access: yesScientific Reports
The study introduces a novel, rapid and precise method for identifying Lonicera japonica (JYH), an important medicinal herb, utilizing Proofman-LMTIA (Proofman probe-ladder melting temperature isothermal amplification) technology. Based on the 5.8 S-ITS2

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Developments in Rapid Detection Methods for the Detection of Foodborne Campylobacter in the United States

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2019
The accurate and rapid detection of Campylobacter spp. is critical for optimal surveillance throughout poultry processing in the United States. The further development of highly specific and sensitive assays to detect Campylobacter in poultry matrices ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Ultrasensitive and rapid detection of ochratoxin A in agro-products by a nanobody-mediated FRET-based immunosensor.

open access: yesJournal of Hazardous Materials, 2019
Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a major concern for public health and the rapid detection of trace OTA in food is always a challenge. To minimize OTA exposure to consumers, a nanobody (Nb)-mediated förster resonance energy transfer (FRET)-based immunosensor using ...
