Antituberculotic activity of actinobacteria isolated from the rare habitats

open access: closedLetters in Applied Microbiology, 2017
A distinctive screening procedure resulted in the isolation and identification of antituberculotic actinobacteria. In this course, a total of 125 actinobacteria were isolated from various soil samples from untapped areas in Northwestern Himalayas, India.

Rare actinobacteria: a potential source of bioactive polyketides and peptides

open access: closedWorld Journal of Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2019
Polyketides and peptides obtained from actinobacteria are important therapeutic compounds which include front line antibiotics and anticancer drugs. Many screening programs are directed towards isolation of bioactive compounds from these organisms but the chances of finding novel antimicrobial leads among common actinobacteria are fast dwindling.

Bioleaching of rare earth elements from bastnaesite-bearing rock by actinobacteria

open access: closedChemical Geology, 2018
Abstract Biological leaching of rare earth elements (REEs) from low-grade ores and mine tailings represents a potentially cost-effective green technology for REE recovery, yet the specific mechanisms of such biological process, especially by common rock-dwelling actinobacteria, remain unclear.
