Standard model of the rare-earths, analyzed from the Hubbard I approximation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In this work we examine critically the electronic structure of the rare-earth elements by use of the so-called Hubbard I approximation. From the theoretical side all measured features of both occupied and unoccupied states are reproduced, without ...

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Er doped oxide nanoparticles in silica based optical fibres [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Erbium doped materials are of great interest in optical telecommunications due to the Er3+ intra-4f emission at 1.54 ?m. Erbium doped fibre amplifiers (EDFA) were developed in silica glass because of the low losses at this wavelength and the reliability ...

The impact of vegetation on fractionation of rare earth elements(REE) during water–rock interaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Previous studies on waters of a streamlet in the Vosges mountains (eastern France) have shown that Sr and rare earth elements (REE) principally originate from apatite dissolution during weathering. However, stream water REE patterns normalized to apatite

A Comprehensive Overview of the Clinical, Electrophysiological, and Neuroimaging Features of BPAN: Insights From a New Case Series

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) comprises a genetically and clinically heterogeneous group of rare neurological disorders characterized particularly by iron accumulation in the basal ganglia. To date, 15 genes have been associated with NBIA.

Effect of Rare Earth Cerium and Yttrium on the High Temperature Oxidation Resistance of Austenitic Heat-resistant Steel [PDF]

open access: yesTeshugang
The addition of trace rare earth elements can significantly enhance the oxidation resistance of alloys, but the action mechanisms of different rare earth elements vary and have not been widely understood.

Determination of Rare Earth Elements in Barite-associated Rare Earth Ores by Alkaline Precipitation Separation-Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2019
BACKGROUND When inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is used to determine the rare earth elements (REE) in the barite-associated light rare earth ores, Ba and light rare earth elements La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, cause severe mass spectral ...

Real‐World Investigation of Satralizumab in Patients With Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Satralizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin‐6 receptor, has demonstrated efficacy in clinical trials for neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD). However, its real‐world effectiveness and safety compared to conventional immunosuppressive therapies remain uncertain.
