Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Coating the standard polypropylene separator with a porous red phosphorous nanosheet greatly improves cycling performance in Li electrode cells. The phosphorus‐based surface chemistry deactivates electrolyte solvent decomposition and enhances the cleavage of F‐containing salt, resulting in an inorganic‐dominated electrolyte interphase (SEI) composition

Fluorodeoxyglucose rate constants, lumped constant, and glucose metabolic rate in rabbit heart
American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 1987The isolated arterially perfused rabbit interventricular septum was used to measure myocardial metabolic rate for glucose (MMRGlc) and rate constants and lumped constant (LC) for the glucose analogue [18F]fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) using a tracer kinetic model.

Declining-Rate Versus Constant-Rate Filtration
Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division, 1980The study conclusively showed the benefits of the declining rate system. Both systems were operated at the average filtration rates at a municipal lime softening plant. The declining-rate filter system produced an average filtrate turbidity which was consistently and substantially better than the constant-rate filter at all three filtration rates ...

Microbial susceptibility to ultraviolet light varies widely between species of microbes. Bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores respond to UV exposure at rates defined in terms of UV rate constants. Other parameters used to define UV susceptibility include the Z value or Z eff (same as UV rate constant), the inactivation cross-section, the D 90 (UV dose ...
