An experimental method to measure gear tooth stiffness throughout and beyond the path of contact

open access: yes, 2001
A method is presented that allows the accurate measurement of the tooth pair stiffness of a pair of spur gears. The method reveals the stiffness behaviour throughout the full length of the normal path of contact and also into the extended contact region ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Jamming modulation aided anti-jamming communication method based on optimized bit error ratio

open access: yesTongxin xuebao
To enhance the communication’s anti-suppressive jamming capability, a jamming modulation aided anti-jamming communication method based on optimized bit error ratio (BER) was proposed. Firstly, the system model of jamming modulation aided anti-jamming was

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Measurement error in long-term retrospective recall surveys of earnings

open access: yes, 2007
Several recent studies in labour and population economics use retrospective surveys to substitute for the high cost and limited availability of longitudinal survey data.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

KINEMATIC OF THE TAKEOFF PHASE OF THE LONG JUMP: A COMPARISON OF TWO DIMENSIONAL AND THREE DIMENSIONAL ANALYSES [PDF]

open access: yesPamukkale Spor Bilimleri Dergisi, 2013
The purpose of the study is to determine the analyse protocols by analysing the segment lengths using kinematics parameters that result of the 2 and 3 dimensional analysis of takeoff phase in the long jump. An elite long jumper participated in this study

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.
