Monotone Data Visualization Using Rational Trigonometric Spline Interpolation

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2014
Rational cubic and bicubic trigonometric schemes are developed to conserve monotonicity of curve and surface data, respectively. The rational cubic function has four parameters in each subinterval, while the rational bicubic partially blended function ...

Differential expression of cancer‐related genes supports prediction of poor response to first‐line treatments in T‐ALL pediatric patients with high minimal residual disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the present work, we have identified a transcriptional signature based on the differential expression of six genes (BCL2&MAST4, HSH2D&LAT2, METRN&PITPNM2) that would facilitate the early detection of T‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T‐ALL) patients prone to a poor treatment response and could be implemented at diagnosis, along with other risk ...

Theoretical Study of the Motion of a Cut Sugar Beet Tops Particle along the Inner Surface of the Conveying and Unloading System of a Topping Machine

open access: yesAgriEngineering
One of the most delicate operations in the sugar beet harvesting process is removing the tops from the heads of the root crops without any mechanical damages.

Scattered Data Interpolation Using Rational Quartic Triangular Patches With Three Parameters

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
This paper discusses the construction of scattered data interpolation scheme based on rational quartic triangular patches with C1 continuity. The C1 sufficient condition is derived on each adjacent triangle. We employ rational corrected scheme comprising

Cosmographic analysis with Chebyshev polynomials

open access: yes, 2017
The limits of standard cosmography are here revised addressing the problem of error propagation during statistical analyses. To do so, we propose the use of Chebyshev polynomials to parameterize cosmic distances.

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Determination of Rational Parameters for the Advanced Structure of a Pedestrian Suspension Steel Bridge

open access: yesThe Baltic Journal of Road and Bridge Engineering, 2007
. High strength cables and steel plates or prestressed rc members (also named as stress-ribbons) usually serve the main load carrying elements of up-to-date pedestrian bridge structures.

A rational cubic spline with tension [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A rational cubic spline curve is described which has tension control parameters for manipulating the shape of the curve. The spline is presented in both interpolatory and rational B-spline forms, and the behaviour of the resulting representations is ...
