A rational optimal block hybrid method for enhanced accuracy in solving Lane–Emden equations

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
This paper introduces a block hybrid method designed for the effective resolution of Lane–Emden equations, which are characterized as second-order boundary value problems incorporating a singularity at the origin.

Rational points on X_0^+ (p^r)

open access: yes, 2011
We show how the recent isogeny bounds due to É. Gaudron and G. Rémond allow to obtain the triviality of X_0^+ (p^r)(Q), for r>1 and p a prime exceeding 2.10^{11}. This includes the case of the curves X_split (p). We then prove, with the help of computer calculations, that the same holds true for p in the range 10 < p < 10^{14}, p\neq 13.

Rational cohomology fixed points

open access: yesAdvances in Group Theory and Applications, 2023
This work concerns rational homotopy. Let \((\land V, d)\) be the Sullivan minimal model of a simply connected CW-complex, of finite type, \(X\). Denote \({\mathcal{E}_{\sharp}}(\land V,d)\) the group of homotopy self equivalences inducing the identity on \(V\). By definition, the space \(X\) has an \(m\)-rational cohomology fixed point if there exist \

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Common fixed point theorems for generalized contraction involving rational expressions in complex valued metric spaces

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2015
The purpose of this paper is to study common fixed points in complex valued metric spaces and obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of common fixed points of a pair of mappings satisfying generalized contraction involving rational expressions.

L'interpolazione razionale e la sua validità

open access: yesStatistica, 2007
The rational interpolation can be used to correct anomalous values or to add missing values in a distribution of n points. Applying this method it is possible to identify a function passing by any n given points.

Understanding bio‐based polymers: A study of origins, properties, biodegradation and their impact on health and the environment

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of bio‐based polymer sources, their unique functional properties and their environmental impact, and addresses their role as sustainable alternatives. It discusses end‐of‐life options, including composting and anaerobic digestion for renewable energy.

Optimal spectroscopic measurement design: Bayesian framework for rational data acquisition

open access: yesMachine Learning: Science and Technology
We propose an optimal experimental design method for spectroscopic measurements that can determine the appropriate number and placement of measurement points in a rational manner.

The Topology of Rational Points

open access: yesExperimental Mathematics, 1992
The aim of this article is to provoke a discussion concerning the general nature of the topological closure of the set of rational solutions of systems of polynomial equations with rational coefficients.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
