Rational Design of a Super-Alkali Compound with Reversible Photoluminescence

Inorganic Chemistry, 2023
The zero-dimensional (0D) (H5O2)(C4H14N2S2)2BiCl8: Sb3+ single crystal is obtained by the cooling crystallization method. Surprisingly, this compound shows reversible photoluminescence (PL) upon H5O2+Cl- removal and insertion. To be specific, the release of H5O2+Cl- resulted in red-orange emission with a very low photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY).

Rational Design of Reversible Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitors

Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry, 2002
A large amount of structural information on AChE and AChE-inhibitor complexes is currently available. Based on that, molecular modeling studies can be intensively used to gain insight into the mechanism of action of the enzyme and the molecular determinants that modulate the potency of inhibitors.

Rationally Designed Dual Inhibitors of HIV Reverse Transcriptase and Integrase

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 2007
Bifunctional inhibitors were designed and synthesized based on 1-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-6-(phenylthio)thymine (HEPT)a1 non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase (RT) inhibitors and diketoacid (DKA) integrase (IN) inhibitors. Biochemical studies revealed activity against RT and IN at low nanomolar and low micromolar concentrations, respectively ...

Preference Reversal: Information-Processing Effect or Rational Non-Transitive Choice?

The Economic Journal, 1989
Preference reversal is often explained as an information-processing effect, whereby individuals respond differently to valuation problems than to straight choices. Regret theory offers the alternative explanation that individuals act on consistent, but nontransitive, preferences.

REVERSE COLLES FRACTURE: RATIONAL TREATMENT

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1936
To the Editor:— During the past year there have been several articles inThe Journalregarding the reverse Colles, or Smith, fracture. Webb and Sheinfeld (June 29, 1935, p. 2324) reviewed the literature and presented a case of their own in which open reduction was required.

Reverse engineering of complex geometry using rational B-splines

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 1997
Rational B-splines have become the new standard for representing free-form curves and surfaces. This paper presents a method for approximating rational B-splines using digitised data. Instead of using the classical optimisation approach to solve the multivariable nonlinear equations, a new method based on iterations of least-squares solutions and ...
