Formation and stability ofS-nitrosothiols in RAW 264.7 cells

American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology, 2004
S-Nitrosothiols have been suggested to be mediators of many nitric oxide-dependent processes, including apoptosis and vascular relaxation. Thiol nitrosation is a poorly understood process in vivo, and the mechanisms by which nitric oxide can be converted into a nitrosating agent have not been established.

PHOSPHATIDYLINOSITOL 3-KINASE REGULATES PROLIFERATION OF RAW 264.7 MACROPHAGES

Immunopharmacology and Immunotoxicology, 2001
Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (P13-kinase) is an enzyme that acts as a direct biochemical link between a novel phosphatidylinositol pathway and a number of proteins containing intrinsic or associated kinase activities. Here we demonstrate that wortmannin, P13-kinase inhibitor, decreases the proliferation of RAW 264.7 macrophages and that another ...

Cytotoxicity of lambda-cyhalothrin on the macrophage cell line RAW 264.7

Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2010
The wide use and wide-spectrum toxicity of synthetic pyrethroids (SPs) insecticides make them an emerging ecotoxicological concern. Some previous studies showed that SPs possessed cytotoxicity in some immune cells such as human lymphocytes and rat bone marrow.

Magnolol stimulates lipolysis in lipid‐laden RAW 264.7 macrophages

Journal of Cellular Biochemistry, 2004
AbstractThis study investigated the effect of magnolol, a compound isolated from Magnolia officinalis, on lipolysis in lipid‐laden RAW 264.7 macrophages. Treatment of macrophages with magnolol led to dissolution of lipid droplets. This phenomenon was accompanied by a dose‐dependent release of glycerol and cholesterol and a concomitant reduction in ...

Effects of Christensenella minuta lipopolysaccharide on RAW 264.7 macrophages activation

Microbial Pathogenesis, 2018
Christensenella minuta (C. minuta) is a gram-negative gastrointestinal bacterium associated with weight loss. However, recent studies have shown that C. minuta might be a potential pathogen and thus limited its application in the control of obesity. Research into the genetic characteristics and pathogenicity of C. minuta remain elusive.

Inhibition of Prostaglandin Synthesis by Nitric Oxide in RAW 264.7 Macrophages

Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2001
Multiple effects of nitric oxide (NO) were revealed on the inhibition of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis by a macrophage-like cell line, RAW 264.7 cells, treated with lipopolysaccharide (LPS). NO-generating reagent, N-ethyl-2-(1-ethyl-2-hydroxy-2-nitrosohydrazino)ethanamine (NOC 12), inhibited the release of PG from cells with LPS treatment at higher ...

Camptothecin suppresses nitric oxide biosynthesis in RAW 264.7 macrophages

Life Sciences, 2001
Nitric oxide is an important cellular mediator that plays a role in tumor growth and angiogenesis. The present study was conducted to evaluate whether camptothecin (CPT), a topoisomerase I inhibitor, exhibits antitumor activity through regulation the inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) biosynthesis pathway.

Platinum Nanoparticles Induce Apoptosis on Raw 264.7 Macrophage Cells

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2018
The cellular effects of platinum nanoparticles (PNP05, average size of 5 nm, and PNP30, average size of 30 nm) were investigated on murine leukemia Raw 264.7 cells. Cells treated with various concentrations of PNPs showed size-dependent cytotoxicity in an MTT assay with PNP5 of smaller nanoparticles higher toxicity than PNP30.

Induction of cell death in RAW 264.7 cells by alpha-lactalbumin

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2008
Alpha-lactalbumin (alpha-LA), a major human milk whey protein, has been reported to exhibit bactericidal properties, immune suppressive effects, anti-proliferation and apoptosis in transformed cells; however, little is known about its anti-inflammation and related molecular mechanism. In this study we investigated the effects of alpha-LA on macrophages.

Palmitate induces RIP1-dependent necrosis in RAW 264.7 cells

Atherosclerosis, 2012
The kinase receptor-interacting protein (RIP) 1, a serine/threonine protein kinase, is a key signaling molecule for necrosis. The possible involvement of RIP1 in palmitate-induced macrophage death and its underlying molecular mechanism was investigated in this study.Cell viability was measured by an MTT reduction assay.
