Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) concentration identifies V122I transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis [PDF]
Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR cam) is likely an under-recognized cause of heart failure (HF) in the elderly [1], owing to misattribution of clinical features to other common co-morbidi...

The Effect of RBP4 on microRNA Expression Profiles in Porcine Granulosa Cells
Simple Summary Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4), mainly secreted by the liver and adipocytes, is a transporter of vitamin A. RBP4 has been shown to be involved in several pathophysiological processes, such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), obesity ...

Exploring the Anti‐Diabetic Potential of Anthocyanins: From Biochemical Pathways to Human Trials
ABSTRACT Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a global health challenge with increasing prevalence rates, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries. Anthocyanins (ACs) are potential bioactive compounds found in various fruits and vegetables, attracting the attention of researchers due to their possible role in managing diabetes and its complications ...

Abstract Background Mutations in cohesins cause cohesinopathies such as Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) and Roberts Syndrome (RBS). Prior findings demonstrate that Esco2 (a cohesin activator) and Smc3 (a core cohesin subunit) regulate the CRL4 E3 ubiquitin ligase. SMC3 mutations, however, account for a small percentage of CdLS.

Liver Retinol Transporter and Receptor for Serum Retinol-binding Protein (RBP4) [PDF]
Vitamin A (retinol) is absorbed in the small intestine, stored in liver, and secreted into circulation bound to serum retinol-binding protein (RBP4). Circulating retinol may be taken up by extrahepatic tissues or recycled back to liver multiple times before it is finally metabolized or degraded.
