The effect of resveratrol, curcumin and quercetin combination on immuno-suppression of tumor microenvironment for breast tumor-bearing mice [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Resveratrol, curcumin, and quercetin are the secondary metabolites from medicinal food homology plants, that have been proven their potency in cancer treatment. However, the antitumor effect of a single component is weak.

Do brief motivational interventions increase motivation for change in drinking among college students? A two‐step meta‐analysis of individual participant data [PDF]

open access: yesAlcohol, Clinical and Experimental Research, Volume 47, Issue 8, Page 1433-1446, August 2023., 2023
We conducted a two‐step meta‐analysis of individual participant data (15 trials, N = 5903) to examine whether Brief Motivational Interventions (BMIs) increased motivation for change for college students. The overall intervention effect of BMIs on motivation for change was not statistically significant.

Continuous chiral distances for two‐dimensional lattices

open access: yesChirality, Volume 35, Issue 12, Page 920-936, December 2023., 2023
We introduce easily computable, continuous chiral distances that measure deviations of two‐dimensional lattices from higher symmetry neighbors. The new distances are analyzed for over 800,000 crystals from the Cambridge Structural Database. We show how the distribution of chiral distances is affected by the chemical properties of materials.

A systematic review on the effect of routine outcome monitoring and feedback on client outcomes in alcohol and other drug treatment

open access: yesDrug and Alcohol Review, Volume 42, Issue 7, Page 1701-1722, November 2023., 2023
Abstract Issues Routine outcome monitoring (ROM) involves regularly measuring clients' outcomes during treatment, which can then be fed back to clinicians and/or clients. In the mental health field, ROM and feedback have been shown to improve client outcomes; however, no systematic reviews have examined whether improvement is also seen in alcohol and ...

Evaluation of the feasibility of cardiac gating for SBRT of ventricular tachycardia based on real‐time ECG signal acquisition

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 24, Issue 2, February 2023., 2023
Abstract Purpose To investigate the feasibility of cardiac synchronized gating in stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) of ventricular tachycardia (VT) using a real‐time electrocardiogram (ECG) signal acquisition. Methods and materials Stability of beam characteristics during simulated ECG gating was examined by developing a microcontroller ...

Pilot protection method for bipolar CSC‐HVDC transmission lines based on transient currents behaviour

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 856-874, February 2023., 2023
Abstract The unnecessary prolonged operating time of conventional current differential protection under high‐impedance DC line faults is an important issue affecting the continuity of power supply. This issue originates from the extreme differential current fluctuation under fault conditions.

Organotypic Human Skin Cultures Incorporating Primary Melanocytes

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 2, Issue 9, September 2022., 2022
Abstract Three‐dimensional (3D) human organotypic skin cultures provide a physiologically relevant model that recapitulates in vivo skin features. Most commonly, organotypic skin cultures are created by seeding isolated epidermal keratinocytes onto a collagen/fibroblast plug and lifting to an air liquid interface.
