SUBVERSIVE FLORI.CULTURES. Ecological manoeuvres from the re-existing South

open access: yes, 2017
The article deals with the need to approach a decolonial critique of the notion of nature, both in its theoretical and methodological dimension, since it has been clearly reified by Western scientific knowledge to sustain inequalities of power or the ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

FLORI.CULTURAS SUBVERSIVAS Maniobras ecológicas desde el Sur re-existente

open access: yes, 2017
El texto trata sobre la necesidad de abordar una crítica descolonial a la noción de naturaleza, tanto en su dimensión teórica como metodológica, pues ha sido claramente reificada por el conocimiento científico occidental para sostener desigualdades de ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

APPROXIMATE ANALYSIS OF RE-ENTRANT LINES WITH BERNOULLI RELIABILITY MODELS

open access: yes, 2007
Re-entrant lines are widely used in many manufacturing systems, such as semiconductor, electronics, etc. However, the performance analysis of re-entrant lines is largely unexplored due to its complexity. In this thesis, we present iterative procedures to

The Resistance of X-Shaped Re-Entrant Auxetic Sandwich Beams to Localized Impulsive Loading

open access: yesCrystals
This study introduces an improved X-shaped re-entrant auxetic structure designed to enhance mechanical performance by incorporating diamond-shaped elements into the re-entrant hexagonal configuration.

Quantitative proteomic analysis reveals different characteristics of bladder cancer cells after exposure to bisphenol A

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.
