Optimal Process Design of Onboard Bog Partial Re-Liquefaction System for 170k LNG Carrier
Volume 1: Offshore Technology, 2017LNG carriers contain LNG at the cryogenic temperature of below −162°C and slightly above the atmospheric pressure. Although the LNG cargo tanks are well insulated, still the heat leak from the atmosphere and BOG (Boil-Off Gas) generation is inevitable. The re-liquefaction system was devised to prevent this loss of BOG by liquefaction of BOG to LNG.
