Phase Diagrams Enable Solid‐State Battery Design
Batteries are non‐equilibrium devices with inherent thermodynamic driving forces to react at interfaces, regardless of kinetics or operating conditions. Chemical potential mismatches across interfaces are dissipated via interfacial reactions. In this work, it is illustrated how phase diagrams and chemical potential maps predict degradation pathways but

Adding Sulfur to Soil Improved Cucumber Plants’ Resistance to Powdery Mildew
Chemical fungicides can effectively prevent and control powdery mildew, but they can also leave pesticide residues in the environment and on cucumbers.

An intentionally added, chemically formed LixAlSy coating stabilizes the lithium–electrolyte interface in solid‐state Li–S batteries. The layer suppresses side reactions, preserves smooth charge transfer, and improves ion transport from the start. This approach offers a practical route to more durable solid‐state batteries and a clearer understanding ...

We report electrochemical quantum capacitance spectroscopy as an ambient, in situ probe for defect‐mediated electronic structure at 2D material interfaces. Using monolayer MoS2, the method resolves band edges and vacancy states, tracks sulfur‐vacancy evolution during hydrogen evolution, and links interfacial density‐of‐states changes to nearly ...

Reactive sulfur species (RSS) such as H2S, HS•, H2Sn, (n = 2-7) and HS2•- are chemically similar to H2O and the reactive oxygen species (ROS) HO•, H2O2, O2•- and act on common biological effectors.

This study examines how a PVDF‐like binder affects the argyrodite Li6PS5Cl electrolyte properties. Using an approach that combines bulk and surface characterization with electrochemistry, we found a chemical interaction between Li6PS5Cl and PVDF, resulting in partial chlorine substitution by fluorine and slightly reduced ionic conductivity.

A Si and SnS2 based dual‐alloy anode material for metal‐ion battery applications with improved structural, interfacial and electrochemical properties is synthesized via a single‐step solid‐state pyrolysis process. During the pyrolysis step, SnS2 and Si are embedded in a porous, carbonized PAN‐based matrix, which is electronically and ionically ...

An Advanced Molecularly Imprinted Polymer‐Based Electrochemical Aptasensor for Carbendazim Detection
A dual‐recognition electrochemical aptasensor that integrates a molecular imprinted polymer (MIP) and an aptamer is developed for the detection of a common pesticide, carbendazim (CBZ). The resulting sensor exhibits enhanced selectivity toward CBZ over structurally similar compounds and achieves a low detection limit of 1.3 nm, demonstrating its ...
