Real-time rendering of realistic rain
ACM SIGGRAPH 2006 Sketches on - SIGGRAPH '06, 2006We propose a new GPU based technique to render realistic rain in real-time. It consists of two parts: off-line image analysis of rain videos, and real-time particle-based synthesis of rain. Videos of real rain are analyzed to extract the rain mattes; random samples of these rain stroke mattes are then used for online synthesis.

Real-time rendering of atmospheric glories
ACM SIGGRAPH 2015 Posters, 2015The glory is a colorful atmospheric phenomenon which resembles a small circular rainbow on the front surface of a cloudbank. It is most frequently seen from aircraft when the observer is directly between the sun and the clouds. Glories are also sometimes seen by skydivers looking down through thin cloud layers.

Real-time 3D rendering with hatching
The Visual Computer, 2016We present an approach for real-time pen-and-ink hatching renderings on large scenes. Starting with 3D models including photorealistic textures and materials, we aim to propose a solution that produces hatched renderings. As we consider scene objects described as polygonal meshes with their own textures, we produce once hatching patterns at different ...

Real-time cloud simulation and rendering
ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Courses on - SIGGRAPH '05, 2005Clouds are a ubiquitous, awe-inspiring, and ever-changing feature of the outdoors. They are an integral factor in Earth's weather systems, and a strong indicator of weather patterns and changes. Their effects and indications are important to flight and flight training. Clouds are an important component of the visual simulation of any outdoor scene, but

Framework for real time cloud rendering
Proceedings. International Conference on Computer Graphics, Imaging and Visualization, 2004. CGIV 2004., 2004Computer Graphics (CG) is a key technology for producing visual contents. Currently computer generated imagery techniques are being developed and applied, particularly in the field of virtual reality applications, film production, training and flight simulators, to provide total composition of realistic computer graphic images.

Real-time rendering systems in 2010
ACM SIGGRAPH 2005 Courses on - SIGGRAPH '05, 2005We present a case for future real-time rendering systems that support non-physically-correct global illumination techniques by using ray tracing visibility algorithms, by integrating scene management with rendering, and by executing on general-purpose single-chip parallel hardware (CMP's).

Real-Time Knit Deformation and Rendering
ACM Transactions on GraphicsThe knit structure consists of interlocked yarns, with each yarn comprising multiple plies comprising tens to hundreds of twisted fibers. This intricate geometry and the large number of geometric primitives present substantial challenges for achieving high-fidelity simulation and rendering in real-time applications. In this work, we introduce the first

Rendering massive real-time crowds
2006This thesis presents how to visualize a large crowd of virtual human characters in real time on a standard issue personal computer. The virtual humans are distributed into rendering fidelities such that the humans closer to the viewer are detailed and expressive while the further away they are, the less detailed they become.
