Effect of the Coriolis Force on the Hydrodynamics of Colliding Wind Binaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Using fully three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations, we investigate the effect of the Coriolis force on the hydrodynamic and observable properties of colliding wind binary systems.

Molecular characterisation of human penile carcinoma and generation of paired epithelial primary cell lines

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Generation of two normal and tumour (cancerous) paired human cell lines using an established tissue culture technique and their characterisation is described. Cell lines were characterised at cellular, protein, chromosome and gene expression levels and for HPV status.

Real World Fuel Consumption and Emissions From LDVs and HDVs

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
Real world emissions and energy consumption behavior from vehicles is a key element for meeting air iquality and greenhouse gas (GHG) targets for any country. While CO2 fleet targets for vehicles are defined on basis of standardized test procedures, real

Analysis of the operation states of internal combustion engine in the Real Driving Emissions test

open access: yesArchives of Transport, 2022
Internal combustion engines represent the largest share of motor vehicle propulsion types. Despite the introduction of alternative drives (hybrid and electric), combustion engines will continue to be the main factor in the development of transport ...

Phase control of electromagnetically induced transparency and its applications to tunable group velocity and atom localization

open access: yes, 2005
We show that, by simple modifications of the usual three-level $\Lambda$-type scheme used for obtaining electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), phase dependence in the response of the atomic medium to a weak probe field can be introduced.

Impact of Real-World Driving Characteristics on Vehicular Emissions

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series B, 2006
With increase in traffic volume and change in travel related characteristics, vehicular emissions and energy consumption have increased significantly since two decades in India. Current models are not capable of estimating vehicular emissions accurately due to inadequate representation of real-world driving. The focus of this paper is to understand the

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Remarks about Real Driving Emissions tests for passenger cars [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Transport, 2016
New test procedures for determining exhaust emission from passenger vehicles will be introduced in 2017. For several years, the European Commission has been developing new procedures, which aim is to perform tests in road conditions.
