β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Relativity, Anomalies and Objectivity Loophole in Recent Tests of Local Realism

open access: yes, 2017
Local realism is in conflict with special quantum Bell-type models. Recently, several experiments have demonstrated violation of local realism if we trust their setup assuming special relativity valid.

Rejecting Mathematical Realism while Accepting Interactive Realism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Indispensablists contend that accepting scientific realism while rejecting mathematical realism involves a double standard. I refute this contention by developing an enhanced version of scientific realism, which I call interactive realism.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Religious Realism vs. Anti-realism: Revisiting Don Cupitt, Paul Badham and D. Z. Phillips [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهشنامه فلسفه دین, 2016
Realism/anti-realism controversy has always been crucial in the history of philosophy, so that it has affected all philosophical areas, including religious belief, in which admitting realistic/anti-realistic approach has a wide range of influences in all

Can the empirical sciences contribute to the moral realism/anti-realism debate? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
An increasing number of moral realists and anti-realists have recently attempted to support their views by appeal to science. Arguments of this kind are typically criticized on the object-level.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

WITTGENSTEIN AGAINST THE REALISM/ANTI-REALISM DISTINCTION

open access: yesDaimon, 1990
In this Blue Book, Ludwig Wittgenstein puts forward an argument against the general realism/anti-realism distinction in metaphysics. If the argument is right, neither realism nor anti-realism concerning any putative element of reality is permissable.

Repositioning Realism

open access: yesPhilosophia Scientiæ, 2015
“Naturalised realism” is presented as a version of realism which is more compatible with the history of science than convergent or explanationist forms of realism.

Berkeley’s Arguments on Realism and Idealism [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We analyse Berkeley's argument that realism cannot be defined, and show that his epistemological assumptions lead to the inevitable conclusion that solipsism is the only definable metaphysics.
