Oncogenic microRNA-4534 regulates PTEN pathway in prostate cancer. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Prostate carcinogenesis involves alterations in several signaling pathways, the most prominent being the PI3K/AKT pathway. This pathway is constitutively active and drives prostate cancer (PCa) progression to advanced metastatic disease. PTEN, a critical

DETERMINATION OF PRIMERS EFFICIENCY IN THE DETECTION OF PEDIOCOCCUS IN WINES

open access: yesScientific Study & Research: Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Industry, 2021
Pediococcus spp. are lactic acid bacteria which are considered spoilage in the wine making processes. Early detection can minimize the negative effects of Pediococcus spp on wine quality and prevent the development of advanced spoilage stages.

Bufalin Inhibits the PI3K/AKT Pathway by Targeting GTF3C4 to Impede Breast Cancer Progression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanisms of Bufalin‐Mediated Intervention in Breast Cancer. ABSTRACT Breast cancer incidence is rising globally, presenting challenges such as treatment side effects and drug resistance. Bufalin is a bufadienolides compound with potential anti‐cancer effects. This study shows that bufalin inhibits malignant proliferation of MDA‐MB‐231 and MCF‐7 cells

Angiotensinergic innervation of rat and human mesenteric resistant blood vessels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In contrast to the current believe that angiotensin II (Ang II) only interacts with the sympathetic nervous system (SNS) as a circulating hormone, we document here the existence of an endogenous renin-angiotensin system (RAS) in the sympathetic coeliac ...

Characterization of Sirt2 using conditional RNAi in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Within the past eight years, RNA interference (RNAi) has emerged as a powerful experimental tool for gene function analysis in mice. Reversible control of shRNA mediated RNAi has been achieved by using a tetracycline (tet)-inducible promoter.
