Clinical-pathological features of an occult mixed mucinous male breast cancer. a case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Mucinous carcinoma of the male breast is an uncommon malignant breast neoplasm and its diagnoses remain difficult. It is probably due to such a low rate of breast cancer cases that men tend to be diagnosed at an older age than women and with a later ...

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

The prognostic impact of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in human gastric carcinomas as measured by quantitative Real-Time PCR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Purpose: Identification of critical genes which play pivotal roles in controlling tumor growth and survival will establish the basis for developing therapeutic targets. In this study, we focused on frequencies of EGFR, ErbB2 and MET gene amplification in

ErbB-2 Receptor Cooperates with E6/E7 Oncoproteins of HPV Type 16 in Breast Tumorigenesis [PDF]

open access: yesCell Cycle, 2007
The ErbB-2 receptor is overexpressed in roughly 30% of human breast cancers. Moreover, approximately 50% of breast cancers are positive for high-risk human papillomaviruses (HPVs), specifically types 16 and 18. Recently, we reported that ErbB-2 cooperates with E6/E7 oncoproteins of HPV type 16 to induce neoplastic transformation of human normal oral ...

Clock Genes Regulate Ca2+ Signaling and Mitochondrial Bioenergetics to Inhibit Sjögren Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective Although Ca2+ signaling and metabolism have been identified as key determinants for the development of Sjögren disease (SjD), the intricate connection between them and salivary gland physiology remains poorly understood. Methods Fluorescence‐based Ca2+ imaging, RNA sequencing, and mitochondrial activity were used to investigate the effects of

Genetic alterations in benign, preneoplastic and malignant breast lesions

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology, 2012
Context: The c-erbB-2 proto-oncogene is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor family and has been associated with a more aggressive breast tumor biology and resistance to some types of treatments.

The Relationship between IGF Pathway and Acquired Resistance to Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors in Cancer Therapy

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioscience-Landmark, 2023
The tyrosine kinase signaling pathway is an important pathway for cell signal transduction, and is involved in regulating cell proliferation, cell cycle, apoptosis and other essential biological functions.

In vivo evidence of htid suppressive activity on ErbB-2 in breast cancers over expressing the receptor [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine, 2010
Htid encoded proteins are physiological partners of a wide spectrum of molecules relevant to neoplastic transformation. One of the molecular ligands of the cytosolic hTid-L and hTid-I forms is the ErbB-2 receptor variably over expressed in diverse solid tumors. Altered ErbB-2 signalling is associated with an unfavourable prognosis in about 30% of human

Total Syntheses of Agelamadin F and (±)‐Tauroacidin A, Enabled by NaClO2‐Mediated Coupling Reactions of Oroidin and Amines

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Total syntheses of agelamadin F and (±)‐tauroacidin A were achieved by sodium chlorite (NaClO2)‐mediated oxidative C─N coupling. Nine C15–N–amino acid‐substituted oroidin derivatives were successfully prepared to demonstrate the applicability and versatility of this oxidative coupling reaction.

Limited Prognostic Value of c-erbB-2 Compared to uPA and PAI-1 in Primary Breast Carcinoma

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2003
In a retrospective study of 488 women with primary breast cancer, after a median follow-up of 10 years, we sought interactions between disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) and tumor antigen levels of two components of the plasminogen ...
