Status epilepticus: Updates on mechanisms and treatments
Abstract Status epilepticus (SE) consists of prolonged, self‐sustaining seizures and is a common neurological emergency that causes respiratory compromise and neuronal injury. Without prompt treatment, the seizures can become resistant to benzodiazepines, leading to the progressive evolution of established, refractory, and super‐refractory SE.

The Efficacy and Safety of Atenolol for Treatment of Infantile Hemangioma
ABSTRACT Background Infantile hemangiomas are the most common benign vascular tumours in children. Since the discovery of propranolol for infantile hemangiomas, its increasing side effect profile has prompted research into its beta‐1‐selective counterpart, atenolol.

Light‐Based Molecular Tools to Precisely Monitor and Operate β‐Adrenoceptors
ABSTRACT β‐Adrenoceptors are important G protein–coupled receptors involved in cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological regulation. To study their function with high precision, light‐based molecular tools have been developed offering precise spatiotemporal control.

IMMUNOMODULATORY EFFECT OF SOTALOL HYDROHLORIDE UNDER ACUTE STRESS
It was established that acute stress in period induction of the local and systemic immune response to thymus-dependent antigen caused an inhibition of expression of delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, did not effect on antibody production in the ...

Two small molecules, SACC‐0039590 and SACC‐0428788, killed cattle fever tick, R. microplus, susceptible Deutch strain and pyrethroid resistant Arauquita strain larvae. SACC‐0039590 at 1 mM decreased the reproductive parameters of Deutch females. Abstract BACKGROUND Resistance to acaricides underscores the need for tick control alternatives.

Abstract Background Blood pressure is a crucial risk factor for hemodialysis patients, but the specific impact of weather factors, particularly barometric pressure, on blood pressure remains unclear. This study aims to examine the relationship between barometric pressure and blood pressure in hemodialysis patients. Methods We conducted a single‐center,

Restoration of beta-adrenergic signaling in failing cardiac ventricular myocytes via adenoviral-mediated gene transfer. [PDF]
Cardiovascular gene therapy is a novel approach to the treatment of diseases such as congestive heart failure (CHF). Gene transfer to the heart would allow for the replacement of defective or missing cellular proteins that may improve cardiac performance.
